FETISH: LEATHER

 

WHY THEY WANT THIS: She is a girl whose body is inhabited by her own colour, weight and etherealness. She wears paint in every nook and cranny of her body, yet she is far from a mess. Structured and strong, she clings onto the form that is inside of her, without suffocating it. She is allowing and open and compliments the skin she is on, almost further amplifying the glow that teeters on its surface.

 

WHAT IT DOES TO THEM: The leather that binds her together is all consuming and almost impossible to take your eyes off of. Who knew that such a tough, uncompromising material could exist in such a soft, forgiving, tiered way? The stars that adorn her wearer’s hair trickle down to the edge of where she starts, further reflecting the colours she adorns. Though black is absolutely classic for a leather jacket, she enjoys that she has so painstakingly been painted to tell an entirely different story and to portray an image so unlike those before her.

 

WHAT’S THE CLIMAX?: The middle ground between the binaries of ‘tough’ and ‘soft’ have been successfully portrayed. While she harshly clings onto some corners, she gently drapes over others. She is accompanied by tulle and snakeskin shoes – a combination that orchestrates a look that is almost mythical, but in a relevant, relatable way. She is your every day leather fairy, dust and all.
