HOLLY FULTON

FETISH: PAISLEY PRINTS, EMBROIDERIES, APPLIQUES/ORGANZA/BEADING

WHY THEY WANT THIS?

Modern art, paisley designs, and a contrasting color palette all came together in the form of Holly Fulton’s A/W ready-to-wear 2016 collection. The inspiration was a combination of a slightly surrealist painting by David Inshaw, called “The Badminton Game”, and the experience of being on the frigid Cairn Gorm mountain in Scotland. These two muses conceived a collection of clothes that is a modern take on town and country fashion. A traditional Scottish paisley was interpreted into modern prints, embroideries, appliques and chenille patches that were in every look. The models glided through a geometric dome structure by Bacchus Studio, which further enforced the relationship between the garments and modern art.

WHAT IT DOES TO THEM

Fultons autumn and winter designs are suitable for a lady of town and country. The striking color palette of white, black, deep chocolate, dusty pink, olive green, and rich yellow are utterly enticing. These clothes are compatible for a mature women that enjoys making a statement, and having all eyes and discussions on her. Thick collared parkas and high neck knits will provide extra protection and privacy. The diverse combination of textiles and textures will cause an arousing tactile experience to the wearer; and perhaps a special someone. Organza paisley petal appliques and simple beading danced on skirts as if they were performing a mating call.

WHAT'S THE CLIMAX?

This collection is for a woman who is confident, mature, and loves to be seen. The Holly Fulton woman is well mannered and traditional, but likes to have fun and be different. This season, she is a paisley prep with nostalgia for Scottish tradition. These garments will visual arrest people with their graphic and textural qualities, so do be careful whose attention you grab.
